James “Jim” O. Mallon is a Chicago-based author originally from County Armagh, Northern Ireland. His memoir, Frightened Pilgrim: From Ireland to America with a Miracle in Between, chronicles his journey as a child who suffered a serious leg injury, experienced what he describes as a healing miracle, served in the U.S. Army, and eventually settled in Chicago where he worked as an actor, playwright, husband, and father.
