Anam Cara Storytelling
Pull up a chair and lean in for program of stories and poems by current and former students of the Irish American Heritage Center’s Anam Cara creative writing program.
Instructor Aileen O’Grady leads writers in classes at every level; those working on the Great Irish American Novel, honing their writing skills, or prepping a piece for a poetry slam in Chicago’s vibrant storytelling scene.
Writers from the class have shared their stories everywhere from the Steppenwolf Theatre at a sold out group show, The Goodman Theatre, The Green Mill, and at The Moth.
A featured storyteller at iBAM! is Kathy O’Neill, who has performed her stories all over Chicago and New York in those vibrant storytelling rooms. Other storytellers include Kate Roche, Theresa Choske, Kathleen Mullin, Keith Kelleher, and Christopher Johnson.
